THE TIMBAVATI FOUNDATION

The Foundation is all about education, equipping children and young people with the skills and competencies to use natural resources sustainably and to excite them about the beauty and complexity of nature. The Timbavati Foundation fosters understanding amongst people so that they can live and contribute to critical life-supporting ecosystems and conserve biodiversity, whilst acknowledging that they need to make a living from the surrounding natural resources.

The environmental school target learners in primary and secondary schools as we believe it is best to reach out at a young age. We also believe that children and young people can be import influencers on their parents and fellow community members, and can help to change attitudes and environmental beliefs.

The school provided accommodation for groups of learners and teachers so that they were able to stay overnight in a typical bush area.
