Strengthening Safety Through Partnership
As part of our Manyeleti Programme, GKEPF recently partnered with SAPS and local Community Policing Forums (CPF) to deliver a capacitation project aimed at strengthening community safety and cooperation along the western boundary of the Greater Kruger. This initiative was made possible through the generous support of SIDA and Alinea, whose investment is helping build stronger, more resilient communities.
The course, developed and delivered with the Southern African Wildlife College, covered discipline, patrolling, radio communication, navigation, reporting, first aid, and tracking awareness. Participants also received uniforms and essential field equipment to support their voluntary patrol duties.
Strengthening the CPF structures helps build trust and shared responsibility between communities, SAPS, and protected areas, improving coordination in addressing both social and environmental crime.
Thank you to SIDA, Alinea, SAWC, SAPS, and all CPF members for their commitment to protecting people and wildlife.
